 Woman FIDE Master Mary Ann Gomes of Kolkata won the Asian Under-16 Championship at Uzbekistan according to telephone sources received by the All India Chess Federation here on June 4.
It is known that Ramyakrishna of Andhra Pradesh finished second.
Mary Ann Gomes recently finished second in her maiden appearance in the National Women A at Bangalore last month. Mary has made two WIM norms and will be setting her sights on the WGM title soon.
