Deep Sengupta |
FIDE, the International Chess Federation today confirmed the International Master titles of two Indians, Suvrajit Saha and Deep Sengupta on Friday.
Suvrajit Saha had made the last international master norm at the National `A' at Visakhapatnam in December 2004. Deep Sengupta made his final International Master norm at the Win TV International Open at Chennai last year.

The e-mail to this effect was received by the All India Chess Federation from the FIDE Rating Administrator Casto P.Abundo on Friday. "We are pleased to inform you that FIDE Qualification Commission Chairman M.Markkula has confirmed the International Master titles of Suvrajit Saha and Deep
Sengupta."
Suvrajit Saha, 28, is from Eastern Railway, Kolkata and had played for the Indian Railway team which won the World Inter-Railway Tournament last year. Deep Sengupta, 16, a former world under-12 champion from Chakradharpur becomes the second International Master for Jharkhand state after Neeraj Mishra. Both players are rated 2414 and will be international masters from today.
