The Supreme Court had on Sep 9 ordered the AICF elections of Sep 25 to be presided over by Mr Justice A.K.Rajan at Chennai. On Sep 17, the judge disqualified seven states from contesting in the elections and from participating in the General Body Meeting and on Sep 19 he gave the seven states the reasons for the same.
The seven states were Kerala, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir and Correspondence Chess Association of India. The reason was for not remitting the membership fees as per Rule 2.02 of the Affiliation Rules.

As schedule the General Body Meeting to be Presided over by Justice A.K.Rajan will be held on 25th September in Hotel Connemara as chosen by Justice
