Five Indian chess players from five different states were decorated with various International Chess Titles by FIDE, the International Chess Federation at its recent meeting at Dresden, Germany.
Announcing the titles here, D.V.Sundar, Secretary of the All India Chess Federation said the Woman International Master title to Kruttika Nadig of Karnataka is subject to the next FIDE Elo rating list which is expected to be out in October 2005.
The following players were awarded titles:
Tania Sachdev (Del) - Woman Grand Master, Mary Ann Gomes (Ben) - Woman International Master,
Abhijeet Gupta (Raj) - International Master. These three are already reflecting on FIDE's official website

The All India Chess Federation had received an email confirming the International Master title of
Ramanathan Balasubramaniam (ICF, Chennai) which was earlier held back for some technicality. India has 2039 Elo rated players, 12 qualified GMs, 8 WGMs, 44 IMs, 14 WIMs today.
