Mary Ann Gomes of Kolkata completed her Woman Grand Master norm in the 32nd National Women A Chess Championship being played at Visakhapatnam. Chief Arbiter Rathinam Anantharam of Sivakasi confirmed this on April 17 evening.

IM Norm For Diwakar Prasad Singh 
Diwakar Prasad Singh, the Jharkhand player who sports a cap and a beard made a 9-game International Master norm from the first eight rounds in the ongoing 43rd National Chess Championship at Vizag  He  scored five points from eight games and has made the norm with a game to spare according to Chief Arbiter R.Anantharam. In the eighth round, Singh crushed Sriram Jha of LIC, Delhi.
