World Youth Chess Festival, Belfort, France - Srinath Has His Day

More Indians lost in round three on Thursday. The highlight of the round was N.Srinath of Chennai shocking the top seed Parimarjan Negi of Delhi in the Boys-12 Section. A setback for India in this section was the defeat of S.P.Sethuraman of Chennai. But the good news is that V.A.V.Rajesh and N.Srinath are in joint lead with full three points. The event happens at Belfort, France and eight rounds remain to be played.

The bright side for India is Y.Sandeep (B14), Sahaj Grover (B10), Saheli Nath (G16) are in join lead in their sections with full points. Top rated Ramya Krishna (G14) lost while WGM Harika (G16) was held to a draw with the black pieces. Also, Soumya Swaminathan (G18) was defeated and she is on 2/3.
