"Chess Players Association of India presents ‘ONGC Cup International Grand Masters Open Chess Tournament’ at K.V.B.R. Indoor Stadium, Yousufguda, Hyderabad from 25th February to 5th March 2006. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) will be the generous Title Sponsors of the Tournament, this being the Golden Jubilee Year for the Oil giant. The Associate Sponsors will be the GMR Group, State Bank of Hyderabad and National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd., and the event is supported by Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh. The event will have a total Prize Fund of a whopping Rs.8,27,000/- (about US$18,000) with a First Prize of Rs.2,00,000/- (US$4,500), probably the highest ever offered for an Open Tournament in India!"
