Woman Grand Master Padmini Rout of Orissa and International
Master Anna Muzychuk of Slovenia won their sixth round games to
share the lead with 5.5 points from six games in the World
Junior Chess Championship which is being played at Poland. The
leaders face each other in the seventh round.
Bhakti Kulkarni of Goa lost to Gulnar Mamedyarova of Azerbaijan
with the white pieces to remain on four points. Bodda Pratyusha
scored over lower rated Bulgarian to move to three points. The
World Junior and World Junior Girls championships run from
August 3-16.
Russian top seed Dmitry Andreikin won his sixth round to join
Dariusz Swiercz of Poland in the lead on five points from six
rounds. Seven rounds remain to be played. Tied for the 3rd to
17th places are several players with 4.5 points and it includes
our M.R. Lalith Babu and Parimarjan Negi.
National Junior champion Sethuraman has scored his third win in
a row to reach four points. Anwesh Upadhyaya 3.5, Debashis Das,
Swapnil Dhopade, Sagar Shah and Ashwin Jayaram are on 3 points.
Arun Karthik is on 2.5 points after playing a sixth round
draw.

all the rating tournaments should be registered 30 days in
advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess
associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to
organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
