Asian Under-18 champion Bhakti Kulkarni of Goa scored a tenth
round win to set up a clash with top seed and leader Anna
Muzychuk of Poland in the eleventh round of the World Junior
Girls Chess Championship in Poland.
Anna Muzychuk leads with 9/10 and is followed by Olga Girya of
Russia on 8 points. In the joint third place are Padmini Rout
and Guinar Mammadova of Azerbaijan on 7.5 points. Bhakti
Kulkarni is in fifth place with seven points. Bodda Pratyusha is
behind on 4.5 points points after a draw in the tenth round.
Padmini drew higher rated WGM Sopiko Guramishvili of Georgia.
Parimarjan Negi's tenth round defeat to Salem Saleh of United
Arab Emirates left the Indians out of the title race in the
World Junior Chess Championship which is in progress in Poland.
National junior champion S.P. Sethuraman is on place 18 with 6.5
points after recording two successive wins. Russian top seed
Dmitry Andreikin leads with 8/10 and is half a point ahead of
the rest of the players.
Third seeded Negi slid to place 30 with six points. Debashis Das
is on 5.5 points in 35th place and Lalith Babu is on same points
and 39th place. Swapnil Dhopade is on 46th place with the same
5.5 points.
Anwesh Upadhyaya is on 61st place with 5 points and Sagar Shah
is on 67th place with same 5 points. The other two Indians, Arun
Karthik is on place 87 with 4.5 points and Ashwin Jayaram is on
100th place with four points.

all the rating tournaments should be registered 30 days in
advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess
associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to
organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
