their title contention as they lost crucial fifth round
encounter against second seed Air India 1 -3. For Air India,
Grandmaster Tejas Bakre defeated Grandmaster Arun Prasad in
second board and G B Joshi stunned Grandmaster Deepan
Chakkravarthy in fourth board while Grandmaster Parimarjan Negi
and International Master Satyaprgyan snatched half points from
Grandmasters K Sasikiran on top board and Abhijit Kunte on third
board respectively.
In another fifth round matches,
Railway Sports Promotion Board A not given any chance to their
rivals West Bengal and registered a comfortable 4 -0 win. While
second railway team in the fray, also had an easy day in the
office as they got better off Kerala 3.5- .5. Tamilnadu held
Life Insurance Corporation of India to creditable draw while
Punjab defeated Delhi 3.5 .5.
Meanwhile in the Womens section, Dibeyandu Barua Chess Academy
defeated Bihar while host Hayana lost to Life Insurance
Corporation of India.
