Team Chess Championship-2010

National Club Team Chess Championships begins
Gurgaon (21 Feb 10) :- 30th National Club Open Team Chess
Championship and 8th National Club Team Chess Championship for
Women got off to an impressive start at DAV Public School here
on Sunday. 25 teams in the open section and 5 teams in the women
section are taking part in this one week long prestigious chess
championships.

Star studded Petroleum Sports Promotion Board comprises of
Grandmasters K Sasikiran, Abhijit Kunte, Arun Prasad, S Kidambi
and Deepan Chakkravarthy starts as top seed and hot favourite to
clinch the title while Air India led by Grandmaster Tejas Bakre
and Railway Sports Promotion Board with Grandmaster RR Laxman in
their squad will give tough fight to the top seeds in this nine
round Swiss system championship.

Earlier in a glittering opening the ceremony, the championship
was inaugurated by Shri. TK Sharma IAS, Commissioner of Gurgaon
Range in presence of Shri. Bharat Singh Chauhan, Treasurer All
India Chess Federation, Shri. Naresh Garg CA, President Haryana
Chess Association, Shri. Pradeep Gupta, Secretary General
Haryana Chess Association and Shri Naresh Sharma, General
Secretary District Chess Association of Gurgaon.
