Grandmaster Surya Sekhar Ganguly
failed miserably in the 6th round against a lower rated
Grandmaster Viktor Laznicka and unable to cope with his superior
play surrendered. This was Ganguly's First Loss in the World
Open. On the Other Table GM Pentala Harikrishna played against
GM Alexander Shabalov. Both the players were cautious right from
the begining and the game remained equal but the Indian
Grandmaster capitualised his opponent's minor mistakes in the
end game and came out victorious..
GM Sandipan Chanda took bye while GM P Magesh won his game
At the end of 6th Round Harikrishna was on 5 points,just a point
behind championship leader Viktor Laznicka

associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to
organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
