Srija Seshadri of Neyveli (TN) has taken a one point lead in the
Girls Under-14 section of Asian Youth Chess Championships which
is being played at Beijing in China. In the Boys Under-14
section, Girish Koushik of Mysore leads by a half point in a
section dominated by Indians.
Cuttack International Master, Debashis Das beat Priyadharshan of
Madurai in the sixth round on Monday to join top seed Anwesh
Upadhyaya and an Iranian in the lead on 4.5/6.
Ankit Rajpara drew Liu Guanchu of China and both of them
continue to lead with 5/6. Antonio D'Cunha is in joint third
place on 4.5 points in this Boys U-16 section.
Top seed Girish Koushik's one point lead got trimmed in round
six in the Boys Under-14 section. The Mysore boy was held to a
draw by third seed Indian Prince Bajaj. Girish leads by half a
point with 5.5/6. In the second place is fourth seed Utkal
Ranjan Sahoo on five points. Further tied for the joint third
place are Prince Bajaj, Sayantan Das and others on 4.5 points.
In the boys under-12 group, Wei Yi of China leads with 5.5.
Karthikeyan Murali and Diptayan Ghosh are on 4.5 points sharing
the second and third places. M.N. Shaikh shares the fourth
place.
Zhang Hanyu of China beat Rathanvel to wrest sole lead in the
Boys U-10 section. Rathanvel and Aryan Chopra share the fourth
place on 4.5 points.
In the Under-8 section, third seed Rudraksh Parida joined Nguyen
Anh Khoi of Vietnam in the lead on 5/6 with a victory. P. Iniyan
shares the fourth place on 4 points.
Top seed Bhakti Kulkarni of Goa maintained her joint lead with a
draw in the sixth round against Hoang Thi Nhu Y of Vietnam.
Bhakti and Hoang are on 5/6. Bharathi shares the third spot with
4.5.
Indians faced others in the first six tables in Girls U-16 and
only Rucha Pujari managed to win. Shalmali Gagare shares the
second place with 4.5/6. A. Akshaya, P.V. Nandhidhaa and Rucha
are tied for the fourth place on four points.
In the girls under-14 section, Srija Seshadri's winning run was
halted by Pham Hong Minh of Vietnam. Srija was held to a draw in
the sixth round, now leads the section by a full point on 5.5/6.
Third seed Ivana Furtado (5/6) of Goa is in second position
after defeating a Chinese player with the black pieces in the
sixth round on Monday morning. Vu Thi Dieu Ai of Vietnam is
leading the Girls U-12 with 5.5/6. Second seed Sunyasakta
Satpathy of Orissa is tied for the third place on 4.5 points
after scoring a win.
Riya Savant shares the second place with 4.5 points after making
a draw against Tarini Goyal. Tarini is tied for the fifth place.
Mongolian player defeated the Chinese to take a one point lead
in the Girls U-10 section with 5.5/6.

organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
