Magnus Carlsen, 19. of Norway won the Corus Chess Tournament at
Wijk aan Zee in the Netherlands on January 31, 2010. He scored
8.5/13 and suffered one defeat to Vladimir Kramnik.
The second place was shared by Alexei Shirov of Spain and
Kramnik of Russia on eight points. Shirov led with 5/5 and then

World champion Viswanathan Anand started with plenty of draws
and remained the only undefeated player. After scoring two wins

preparing for the Sofia match and not for opponents in this
event.
