Vishnu Parsanna beat GM Halkias Stelios at Negroponte 2010

It was FM Vishnu Parsanna’s day at the Negroponte Open Chess 2010. He came out with flying colours when he beat a very strong Opponent Grandmaster Halkias Stelios having an elo of 2588. It was the most intense game of the fourth round. Prasanna playing with black replied with Nf6 to his opponents d4 opening move and after some initial moves the game was played on Kings Indian lines. Right from the beginning Prasanna played aggressively and wound up the game in just 29 moves. It was incidentally his birth day, which he celebrated later with the other Indians. With 3.5 points he is now ahead of GM SS Ganguly, Sandipan Chanda IM Harika Dronavalli who all drew their games and are on 3 points.

The Other important wins for Indians were that of GM Abhijeet Gupta IM Tania Sachdev and Sham Sundar. GM Deepan Chakravarty committed a blunder in the end game and lost. Sahej Grover, Karma Pandya and Somya Swaminthan drew their games.
