Abhijeet Gupta of Bharat Petroleum, Delhi finished in a tie for
the first place in the Kavala Open that concluded at Greece on
Saturday. The former world junior remained undefeated along with
GM Tuhaev to score seven points from nine rounds.
India had two other good news from this event. International
Master Dronavalli Harika of Guntur made her second Grand Master
norm and FIDE Master Vishnu Prasanna completed his final
International Master norm. He will require to reach the 2400
rating stipulation to become an IM though. Vishnu Prasanna is
gaining 25 Elo points from this excellent showing.

all the rating tournaments should be registered 30 days in
advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess
associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to
organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
