Second seed India scored on the middleboards through
Debashis Das and Aditya Udeshi to score a easy
looking 3-1 win over the fifth seed Georgia.
A win gives the team two points and a draw one point.
India has played three matches and won all three of them
to reach six points.
Three other teams can match us on wins when the round
three games comes to an end. On the old points
scale, India has 11 points from 12 games. Two 4-0 sweeps
over Sri Lanka and England and now a 3-1 win over
Georgia places India on top in the World Youth Chess
Olympiad happening at Turkey on September 26.
A total of nine rounds will be played of which six
remain to be played. India's match with top seed Russia
which is to come will perhaps be the most interesting
game of this event.
India has won the last two editions at Singapore 2007
and Turkey 2008 while not being the top seed and this
year could be the same.
