The World Women Team Championship was inaugurated by
Mr.Ignatious Leong, Secretary, World Chess Federation (
FIDE) amidst a huge gathering of Chinese Chess
Association Officials, Players and Media persons in a
well organized, colourful ceremony.
All the Indian Women Team players, who were wearing
Sarees, were warmly welcomed by local officials and they
became cynosure of all the people. After the speeches
and draw of lots all the teams along with their captains
were called to the stage and our entire contingent along
with me were introduced at the stage.
India picked No 5 during the draw of lots and will be
playing Armenia in the first round.

The next three days are crucial for the Indian Team as
they will be playing Russia, China One, and Georgia.
