University of Calcutta Lifted the Championship Trophy

After a hard fought battle the university of calcutta chess team lifted the championship trophy of 14th rakan muda grand Asian Chess Challange International inter-versity chess championship with 28.5 points out of 36 points. In this nine(9) round fide Swiss league tournament 20 Asian universities participated in this Prestigious chess tournament of Asia held at university of Malaya (Kualalumpur, Malaysia) from 28th November to 4th December 2009.the university of calcutta is the first Indian university to clinches the title.
