World Youth Chess Championship-Antalya,Turkey

Indians are at joint lead in various Boys & Girls age
category sessions at the end of the third round of the
World Youth Chess Championship being held at Antalya
from 11th November 2009.
Aditya Udeshi played an excellent attacking game in the
white side of Guico Piano. He sacrificed a rook and
forced a checkmate against highly rated International
master Grandelius Nilsi(2540) of Sweden in the top board
of Under 16 Boys Section. S.P.Sethuraman also scored a
fighting win over Zhou Yang Fan and Vidit Gujrati who
beat Ruslan Kurayan are also in joint lead with Aditya
Udeshi logging 3 points apiece.
In the Girls under-12 section Lasya Goli scored a
thumping win over Radinova Dariya in a Sicilian game
playing black. Mahalakshmi played a long Carokann game
scoring over Yasim patel with black pieces. Both are in
joint lead with 3 points each.
Pratyusha Bodda played a fine technical game to beat WFM
Samigullina Diana and shot into the point lead with 3
points in the U-14 girls category. Bansi Prathima also
notched up a good win to move to joint lead with 3
points in the U-8 girls category.
Other notable results include Aryan Chopra in the lead
with 3 points in the U 8 boys and Vaibhav Suri and
Girish Kaushik also notching up creditable wins to move
to joint lead with 3 points each in the U-12 boys
category. Tejas Ravichandran also kept the Indian hopes
high by moving to 3 points in as many rounds in the U-14
boys category.
The accommodation at Sailors Beach hotel is excellent
and the choice of food being provided at the hotel is
good for vegetarians also. The bulletins are made
available next day at 10.AM

all the rating tournaments should be registered 30 days in
advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess
associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to
organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
