National Under - 7 Chess Championship at Ahmedabad
 

UNDER-7 NATIONALS AT AHMEDABAD



The National Under-7 Chess Championship got off to a colourful start at the sprawling lawns of Sun-N-Step Club in Ahmedabad on Thursday, 17th December 2009. Prominent dignatories including Mr. Ajay Patel (Vice-President, GSCA), Mr. Kartikey Shukla (MD, Vishvabharati School), Mr. Vinay Parikh, Hon. Secretary (GSCA) , Mr. Jayesh Shah, Chairman (Sun-n-step club), Mr. Mayur Patel, Vice-President (GSCA) and Mr. Ravichandran Chief Arbiter were present on this occasion.

The Tournament has attaracted a record number of 217 entries from all over India. The Boys section has 148 entries from 18 states namely Orissa, Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Pondicherry, West Bengal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Kerala, Bihar & Madhya Pradesh. The girls section has 69 entries including one entry from the north eastern state of Manipur.

The event is 11 round swiss format with a cash prize of Rs 1lakh.

At the end of round 4, Adyasa Mahapatra [Ori], Saina Salonika [Ori], Sanika Gaikwad [Mah] & Riddhi Zantya [Goa] are ahead of the competition with four points each. In the Boys section, 8 players namely Subhasis Barik [Ori], Aditya SSV [AP], Iniyan P [TN], Ansumal Samal [Ori], Moksh Asnani [MP], Saurabh Anand [Bihar], Sadhu S Adithya [ TN] & Rudraksh Parida [Ori] have four points each.

Kind Attention : Tournament Organizers / State Associations

May 06 2010 - Please be informed that the FIDE has announced that, here after all the rating tournaments should be registered 30 days in advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to allot the FIDE  / AICF event code for the event.   Download the Bidform
