Ganguly, Zhou Weiqi In Lead

Indian expectations came true when our national champion
Surya Shekhar Ganguly disloged Rogelio Antonio of the
Philippines from the lead by defeating him in the tenth
and penultimate round. Ganguly shares the lead with Zhou
Weiqi of China on 7.5/10.
In the final round, both the leaders are playing black
against different opponents. Ganguly faces the higher
rated Zhou Jianchao of China. Five players share the
third place on seven points. and it includes four
Chinese and one Philippine player.

Woman International Master Zhang Xiaowen of China is
assured of the Asian Women's Chess Championship title
when she drew Meenakshi Subbaraman of Chennai in the
tenth and penultimate round.
Zhang moved to eight points from ten rounds and enjoys a
one point lead. Meenakshi is tied for the fifth place on
