Top seed Krishnan Sasikiran of Chennai finished tied
fourth place on 4.5/9 in the ten player category 15 (Elo
2610), Najdorf Memorial tournament that concluded at
Warsaw, capital of Poland on July 26.
Sasikiran lost to champion Radoslaw Wojtaszek of Poland
and Azad Abasov of Azerbaijan who finished last! He beat
Michal Olszewski of Poland and Tomi Nyback of Finland.
In the final round, all five games in this event ended
in draws. This event ran from July 18-26. A total of 16
games out of 45 played were decisive.
Sasikiran played at 2603 and since his started rating
was 2669, he would be losing Elo from this competition.
Sasikiran was rated in the 2700 club after helping India
to a gold medal in the Asian Games at Doha in 2006.

advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess
associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to
organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
