National Sub-junior girl's champion R. Bharathi continued her good show by defeating Fenil Shah of India from White side to jump to 5 points at the end of the 7th round of the Villa De Benasque Chess tornament at Benasque, Spain. Shalmali Gagare of Rahuri, Maharashtra also continued her good form by beating with White pieces Fernandez Garcia Javier of Spain in a reversed King's Indian Opening.

J. Sharanya of Chennai scored a comfortable victory over Horton Justin of England to move ahead with 4.5 points. Rucha Pujari won a piece and the game comfortably against Cardelon Campos of Spain. Pallabi Roy from Kolkata drew wiith Ignatio Alonso in Caro Kan defence to reach 3.5 points. Shrishti Shetty drew with Martinez Gonzalez of Spain to reach 3 points.

Aditya Udeshi of Mumbai scored a quick draw against IM Roeder Matthias from Germany to collect 5 points from seven games. Another Mumbaite Rakesh Kulkarni (4.5 points) created a minor flutter by holding IM Collas Silvia of France in Grunfeld defence. Girish Kaushik ( 4.5 points) continued his good run with a easy win over Rosell Formosa. Priyadarshan (4.5 points) went down fighting against IM D'costa Lorin of England.

Debashish Das (4 points) of Orissa was held to a draw by lowly rated Cabanas Jimenez. Deepthamesh Reddy (4 points) also drew against Escuer Sanchez.

May 06 2010 - Please be informed that the FIDE has announced that, here after all the rating tournaments should be registered 30 days in advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to allot the FIDE  / AICF event code for the event.   Download the Bidform
