M.R. Lalith Babu of Vijayawada finished eighth in the
93-player Dutch Open that concluded in the Netherlands
on July 30.
Lalith Babu who had a start rating of 2472 played at
2496 after he won six games and lost three including the
last round. He would be gaining some Elo. He had won the
Leiden Open earlier and expectations were high from him
in this event.
Dutch youngster Erwin L'Ami won the event with 7.5/9
ahead of 1994-born Grand Master Anish Giri of the
Netherlands. Former world championship challenger Jan
Timman finished third with seven points.
Chennai's S. Harini impressed again and played well in
rating terms.

all the rating tournaments should be registered 30 days in
advance. We therefore request all the organizers / State chess
associations to send their Bidform along with prescribed fee to
organize any FIDE rating events, 45 days in advance to All India
Chess Federation for onward submission to FIDE and enable us to
