Chess
Federation-Regd:
We understand that
Mr.S.L.Harsh/Rajasthan Chess Association has announced a Chess tournament
at Bikaner from 24th June, 2008 to select the Rajasthan team
for participation in the ensuing National ‘B’ Chess Championship. In this
connection , this clarification is issued so that there is no confusion
among the players and other district representatives in Rajasthan.
Mr.S.L.Harsh is
personally suspended for life from all the activities of the All India
Chess Federation and its affiliated members for his acts of omissions and
commissions. Further, the Rajasthan State Chess Association is
disaffiliated as a member from the All India Chess Federation and no
longer can represent the Federation or the interest of the Rajasthan
Chess. Mr.Harsh and the Rajasthan State Chess Association along with Koya
& others filed a case in the Madras High Court which dismissed the same.
Mr.Harsh and friends preferred an appeal and the Division Bench of the
Madras High Court upheld the Single Judge Order and dismissed the appeal.
Mr.Harsh has filed an SLP. His appeal for interim stay has not been
granted. Hence legally All India Chess Federation can not recognize
Mr.Harsh or the Rajasthan
State Chess Association.
Therefore, the All India
Chess Federation will not recognize the activities of the Rajasthan Chess
Association which includes organizing and selecting any player to play in
tournaments to be organised under the control of All India Chess
Federation. To safe guard the interest of Rajasthan Chess and the Chess
players of Rajasthan, the All India Chess Federation has given Affiliation
to All Rajputana Chess Association and a committee formed to identify
talents who can be considered by the All India Chess federation to play in
the National Championships.
Last year also
Mr.S.L.Harsh did the same thing and he seems to have not learnt his
leasons.
This is issued in the
interest of players who might be confused with the announcement of the
selection tournament by Mr.Harsh and to impress upon them that those who
play in that tournament will be doing so at their own risk. Since, as per
the Rules of the registration of players with AICF, no player can take
part in tournaments not recognized by the All India Chess Federation and
will be liable for disciplinary action.
