Mixed day for top Indian players

All the three international masters in the Asian Youth championship at
Tehran S.P. Sethuraman, B. Adhiban and M. Shyam Sundar scored facile wins
in the second round of the U 16 category, to lead along with the top
seeded FIDE master Salem A.R. Saleh of UAE. The latter defeated K.
Priyadharshan. As National U17 champion P. Saravana Krishnan lost to
Tologontigen Semetey of Kazakstan, India has no leader inthe U 18
category. Only in the U14 section, three Indians Vidit Santosh Gujrati,
Prasanna Rao and Ankit R. Rajpara alone have surged ahead with 2 points
each. The trio Shiven Khosla, Sayantan Das and Girish A. Koushik are
leading with 2 points in the U12 group. There are four leaders in the U 10
category and only one Indian Diptayan Ghosh could be found in this list.
In the U 8 section, Y. Grahesh and two others have scored 2/2.
Ivana Maria Furtado, the World champion in the U10 category and M.
Mahalakshmi are among the leaders with 2 points each in the Girls' U10
category. Top seeded Sweety Patel was held to a draw by Alijanzadeh
Mohadeseh of Iran. In the u12 category for girls also, top seeded
pratyusha Bodda was forced to split the point with Khademelsharieh
Sarasdat of Iran and only Rathore Sonakshi is one of the three leaders and
National U11 champion P.V. Nandhithaa lost an advantageous ending. Inspite
of drawing the game between themselves, J. Mohana Priya and Priyanka
Rajakumari shared the lead with Nlv Anusha and two others in the U 14
category for girls. In the U 16 section, Pon N Krithika and Bhakti
Kulkarnai shared the lead with two others. P. Uthra posted a win over
Esonboeva Gulrusher to be among the leaders and National U17 champion R.
Preethi was again held to a draw in U 18 group.
