Srinath Wins IM Tournament At Czech Republic

FIDE Master Narayanan Srinath won the IM Dopravni Stavby Brno 2008
International Master Tournament by remaining undefeated at 8.5/11 in Czech
Republic on July 6. It was a 12-player all-play-all.
Srinath who is 1994-born of Chennai also won a second IM norm in the
process. In the final round, he drew FM Jakub Lahner of Czech Republic
with the white pieces from a Two Knights opening in 14 moves.
Srinath, a former World U-12 champion from Chennai was impressive against
the three International Masters. He scored two points from three games.
Final placings: 1 FM N. Srinath (Ind) 8.5/11, 2 IM Piotr Murdzia (Pol) 8,
3 IM Sergei Splosnov (Blr) 7.5, 4-5 FM Jakub Lahner (Cze), Zoltan Janko (Svk)
