Soumya Swaminathan Makes WGM Norm

Two Pune girls made merry in the 28th Edition of the Benasque
International Open being played at Spain.
While Soumya Swaminathan made a Woman Grand Master norm, Devangi Patankar
also from Pune made a WIM norm in the same event after nine rounds.
A. Niji of Kozhikode is also performing well at Benasque. She could not
achieve the WIM norm as she did not meet the required titled players.
According to news received by the AICF from P.K. Gupta, Indians are doing
well and are set to achieve more laurels when the event completes.
