PREETHI AND NIJI MISSED THEIR WIM NORM.

Countries latest Woman Grand Master Soumya Swaminathan emerged best woman performer after the end of the final round in the International open at Benasque (Spain) by scoring 6.5 points from possible 10, she also got the 3rd
prize in the category of ELO 2200 - 2299.

International Master Deep Sengupta made a come back in th second-half of the tournament by taking his tally to 7.5 points by defeating the Bulgarian Woman Grand Master Dzingarava to finish 13th in the main prize list.

Kerala girl A Niji missed her WIM norm narrowly as she fell short by one title holder from the required 5. She finished with 6 points after the loss in the last round.

R Preethi missed her WIM norm by half a point when she failed to obtain atleast a draw in the final round get the requirements.

The team proceeds to Ballguer for the final event of the tour.
