Kramnik Joins Anand At The Top

Former world champion Vladimir Kramnik of Russia joined world Champion Viswanathan Anand at the top in the January 2008 rating list after both players totalled 2799 Elo to occupy the joint top place. By virtue of having played more games 9-3, Kramnik's name is on the top but both are 2799 and share the top place.

Anand played three games at Turkey after winning the World title at Mexico City. Kramnik made of his huge win in the Tal Memorial Category 20 event to gain and come back to the top place.
