Former world junior champion P.Harikrishna of Hyderabad finished in a tie
for the second to fourth places in the 50th Edition of the Reggio Emilia
Super Category Tournament that concluded at Italy on January 6.
Harikrishna lost to winner Zoltan Almasi of Hungary, beat Konstantin Landa
(Rus), David Navara (Cz) and Michele Godena (Ita) to reach 5.5/9 and end
the event with a high rating performance of 2710.
India's best result in this event which is running for 50 years now was
V.Anand's major success in 1991 ahead of Kasparov, Karpov and the elite
group of Russians.
This time the average rating was 2633, good enough for category 16.
