Ruan Lufei Beats Nisha Mohota

Top seed Ruan Lufei of China beat Nisha Mohota of Kolkata to join the leaders at the end of the sixth round in the 12th Asian Women Championship being played at Tehran in Iran on Sep 8.

Round six did not go well for the Indians. Only Eesha Karavade won and three players, Tania Sachdev, Aarthie Ramaswamy, Swati Ghate made draws. Both Nisha Mohota and Amruta Mokal suffered defeats.

Three players, Nguyen Thi Thanh An (Vie), Ruan Lufei, Huang Qian (both Chn) are leading with 4.5/6. Three rounds are still to be played. Tied for the fourth to eighth places is our national women's champion Tania Sachdev.

The results (round six): Atousha Pourkashiyan (Iri) drew Huang Qian (Chn), Nguyen Thi Thanh (Vie) drew Tania Sachdev (Ind), Nisha Mohota (Ind) lost to Ruan Lufei (Chn), Zhang Xiaowen (Chn) drew Aarthie Ramaswamy (Ind), Eesha Karavade (Ind) bt Shayesteh Ghadepour (Iri), Swati Ghate (Ind) drew Shadi Paridar (Iri), Le Kieu Thien Kim (Vie) bt Amruta Mokal (Ind).
