Sasikiran Enters Round Three

Krishnan Sasikiran used all his speedy skills to down Vadim Zviaginsev of Russia by 2-0 in the second set of tie-break games after the classical chess produced two draws and the rapid play off also saw two draws.

Sasikiran of ONGC, Chennai is in the round of 32 and faces Macieja of Poland. Sasikiran is expected to win this round too and enter the last 16. The top seed is Vassily Ivanchuk of Ukraine.

The event is the 128-player FIDE World Chess Cup happening at Khanty-Mansiysk in the Siberian part of Russia.
