Easy Draw For Sasikiran

Krishnan Sasikiran who is getting married soon played a quick draw with the black pieces in round two against Vadim Zviaginsev of Russia on Nov 27. In the reverse encounter on Nov 28, Sasikiran will have the advantage of making the first move. Sasikiran and Zviaginsev are about the same rating but the Indian is "hot" as he has played several top flight events recently.

In the other game of interest, Galkin drew top seed Vassily Ivanchuk in a level rook ending from a Caro-Kann defence. Ivanchuk will have white in the reverse game. This is a 128-player knock out FIDE World Chess Cup happening at Kahanty-Mansiysk in the Siberian part of Russia. Round two, there are 64 players left. This event will conclude on December 18.
