Tiviakov Joins Harikrishna In Lead

Sergey Tiviakov of the Netherlands joined P Harikrishna in the lead at 2.5 points at the end of the third round in the 8th Montreal Category 17 tournament on Sunday.

Harikrishna of Sun Group accepted a draw offer with the white pieces after Kamsky's 15th move to break his own winning streak. Kamsky played the Slav defence with black.

Tiviakov turned Short into the punching bag of the tournament so far by defeating him with a Worral attack in 32 moves. It is a 10-player all-play-all and six rounds remain to be played.
