Harikrishna In Sole Lead

After beating Emil Sutovsky of Israel in round one, P Harikrishna downed Nigel Short of England in the second round to wrest sole lead with full two points in the 8th Montreal International Chess Tournament on July 20.

In the 10-player all-play-all, Harikrishna sponsored by Sun Group is on two points, half a point ahead of Gata Kamsky, Pavel Eljanov, Sergey Tiviakov. 

It is a strong super category event. In the opener, Harkrishna won a fine pawn ending and in the second, he cashed in on Short's blunder to win a pinned knight in just 19 moves with the black pieces.
