By Arvind Aaron

Grandmaster P.Harikrishna of Hyderabad who is looking for a sponsorship entered the knock out phase of the Cap d'Agde Masters Rapid Chess Tournament on Oct 30 in France. With the top four players advancing, Harikrishna lost the first game on Sunday but advanced to the next stage by taking the fourth place in Group A. Harikrishna will face winner of Group B, Volokitin in the last quarter finals on Tuesday.

Koneru Humpy tied for the third to sixth places in Group B and played the tie-break blitz. She beat Karpov yet again a second time in the event! But it was not enough. She lost 0.5-1.5 to Bacrot, 0-2 to Zhao Xue and won 1.5-0.5 with Karpov in the blitz double round robin play off.
