Sole Leader In Girls-10 Section

Bodda Pratyusha shot into sole lead in the
Girls Under-10 section of the World Youth Chess Championship on October
22. Indians are also dominating the Open Under-10 section with all the
three leaders coming from India: G.V.Sai Krishna, Girish Koushik and top
seed Komiri Vijaya Kanth. Overall, five Indian girls and four Indian boys
are in lead at the end the end of the fourth round. Seven rounds remain to
be played.
Girls Under-18: Dronavalli Harika of Guntur beat Mary Ann Gomes (3/4) of
Kolkata with the white pieces to share the lead with Tatev Abrahamyan of
United States. Both players have four points and face each other in the
fifth round on Monday.
Girls Under-16: Three girls overcame the Diwali blues to win and increase
their tally in this section.
P.Uthra (3/4), Ramyakrishna (2.5) and Dhyani Dave (2) won and recovered on
Sunday. Maritsa Tsirulnik of Ukraine shot into sole lead with four points.
Girls Under-14: Fifth seed Klaudia Kulon of Poland moved to sole lead in
the Girls Under-14 section posting four full points. Indians fell behind
in this section but still they have firepower to win medals. Bhakti
Kulkarni, P.Lakshmi Sahithi, Devangi Patankar and Pallabi Roy are on 2.5
points.
Girls Under-12: Asian under-12 champion Padmini Rout of Orissa and Diana
Baciu of Moldovia are leading this section with full four points. J.Mohana
Priya of Chennai held Qin Ranran of China to a draw as the players share
the second to fourth places with 3.5 points.
Girls Under-10: Bodda Pratyusha of Andhra Pradesh shot into sole lead with
full four points. In the fifth round on Monday, she will face second seed
Sai Nirupama who is in second place on 3.5 points. Pratyusha beat Ana
Shamatava of Georgia in the fourth round with the black pieces.
Girls Under-8: Mannepalli Navyavyshanavi and Gomini Shreya drew their
mutual game in the fourth round to share the lead in this section with
three others on 3.5/4. Sweety Patel and Ivana Furtado are tied for the
second spot with three points.
Open Under-18: Gogineni Rohit moved to the joint third place with three
points from four rounds. Twelfth seed S.Arun Prasad scored his first
victory and climbed to two points.
Open Under-16: Dasari Sai Srinivas, seed 12 from Vijayawada overcame seed
13 S.P.Sethuraman of Chennai to move to the joint third place in this
section. Sai Srinivas is on 3.5 points and Aswin Jayaram is on 3 points.
Open Under-14: India's weakest performing section so far. Y.Sandeep 2.5/4,
Adhiban, Nitin and Priyadarshan are on two points.
Open Under-12: Ulvi Bajarani of Azerbaijan shot into sole lead in this
section with full four points. Five of the seven players in the second
spot are Indians: N.Srinath, Sahaj Grover, V.A.V.Rajesh, Adith Jagadish,
Fenil Shah.
Open Under-10: Indians are dominating this section. National Under-9
champion G.V.Sai Krishna of Vijayawada, top seed Komiri Vijaya Kanth,
Girish Koushik are sharing the lead in this section with full four points.
Tied for the fourth place on 3.5 points is Y.V.K.Chakravarthi. Abhilash
Reddy, Mugil Jayavel and Kharma Pandya are on three points. Some of the
key encounters featured all-Indian clashes and will feature the same.
Open Under-8: Ch Mohineesh is one of the four leaders in this section with
full four points. Tied for the fourth-fifth place with 3.5 points is
Bharat Arjun. Third seed Prince Bajaj and Soumya Sharma are on three
points.
