Sri Lanka Open International Rating Chess Championships 2006
The Sri Lanka Open International Rating Chess Championships 2006 is
schedule to be held in Colombo from 19th (arrival) to 25th
(Departure) October 2006 in Colombo with a total Prize fund of Rs.
200,000/=. The event will be held over the Swiss System over 9 rounds
starting from 20th at
3.00 p.m.
There will be 1 game on 20th and 2 games each on other days followed by
the closing ceremony on 24th at
6.30 p.m.
Prizes
Champion - Rs. 60,000/= + Gold medal + Trophy
1st Runner up - Rs. 35,000/= + Silver medal
2nd Runner up - Rs. 20,000/= + Bronz medal
4th and 5th - Rs. 10,000/= each
6th to 10th
- Rs. 5,000/= each
Best Girls 1st - Rs. 10,000/= + Gold
2nd - Rs. 6,000/= + Silver
3rd - Rs. 4,000/= + Bronz
Best Unrated 1st - Rs. 10,000/= + Gold
2nd - Rs. 6,000/= + Silver
3rd - Rs. 4,000/= + Bronz
The Best three Under 10, 12 and 15 players Girls and Boys
seperately will be awarded with medals while the winner in each section
will be awarded with Rs. 2,500/=.
A winner is eligible for only one prize on his choice and the prize
money will be shared in case of a tie.
