1. Environment: The residential township of Atul Ltd has a green, quiet and serene environment. It is perfect for chess. The township is bound by a hillock (with a fort atop it) in the north west and Par river on the south. One may look forward to a holiday stay in a resort.

2. Playing arena: Atul Club Card Room – is air conditioned, though the weather may not require use of AC.

3. Accommodation: In the vacant houses of company executives in Atul township. Houses have 2/3 bedrooms with hall. Bedrooms have attached bath/WC with geyser facility. Players will be accommodated on twin sharing basis. Therefore, there will be 4 – 6 players per house. The players may indicate their choice for room and house partners. As far as practical, such requests will be accommodated. Looking at the pleasant/cool weather in December at Atul, there will be no need for ACs. Full bedding including blankets will be provided. The houses have round the clock electricity and water supply.

4. Boarding: Buffet meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner will be available at the venue. Morning tea and drinking water will be supplied at the residences. Restaurant at club provides variety of al a carte service.

5. Transport: Pick up and drop at Valsad station will be provided against informed program. Pick up and drops within the township will be made for meals and games. The houses are within walking distances of each other and the venue.

6. Medical: Two resident doctors and a full fledged medical centre are available 24 hours for any medical attention.

7. Communications: STD booth is available at Club. The township is covered by the Idea, Hutch, Airtel and Cellone cellular networks.

8. Engagement: Atul club has the following facilities for use - swimming, table tennis, squash, billiards, badminton, gymnasium, health club, TV, reading room.

9. Weather: The second fortnight of December will be pleasant to cool. Players are advised to carry pullovers or jackets especially for the evenings.

How to reach

Valsad Railway Station (10 km from Atul) is on the Mumbai – Ahmedabad and Mumbai – Delhi route. Most trains halt at Valsad. Some trains halt at Vapi (25 km from Atul) instead of Valsad.

Players coming from South or East may reach Mumbai and take a north bound train to Valsad. Valsad is 180 km from Mumbai and it takes 3-4 hours by train. If there are sufficient numbers a bus will be arranged to pick up and drop at a fixed location in Mumbai.

North players may take a Mumbai bound train from Delhi and get down at Valsad.

If your arrival train is pre-communicated, pick up at Valsad station will be arranged. Alternatively, an autorickshaw from Valsad station to Atul will charge 50-60 rupees. Please reach Atul Club.
