Srinidhi Nagarajan |
Tamil Nadu's Srinidhi Nagarajan brought life
into the girls section by beating overnight leader Priyanka Kumari of
Jharkhand with an easy to spot combination on the 15th turn. This
discovered double attack on the queen gave Srinidhi an exchange and later
it became a full rook when the Jharkhand girl resigned on the 26th
move.
Srinidhi and Priyanka Kumari are in joint lead with six points from seven
rounds. Michelle Catherina, Dharani Sree and J.Vaishnavi (TN) and
Mahaswetha (Ass)
are in the joint third place with 5.5 points.
Mahaswetha of Assan won a pawn but lacked the courage to take that risk in
the minor piece ending and she took a draw against Michelle Catherina.
Four rounds are still to go and the closing ceremony will be on Nov 11 at
4 p.m.
