Asian Junior Chess Championship - Inauguration

New Delhi, Nov-7, 2006: Union Minister for Petroleum, Shri. Murli Deora inaugurated Asian Junior & Girls under 20 Chess Championships 2006. The tournament will be held at Bapu Samaj Sewa Kendra, Panchkuiya Road, New Delhi form 8th Nov and will continue till the 15th of this month. This was announced by Delhi Chess Association at the inauguration ceremony of the Championships.  

Mr. Bharat Singh Chauhan, Secretary-DCA and many other representatives of DCA were present during the function.

 The Organizing Secretary of the tournament, Mr. Bharat Singh Chauhan, said, “Like every year this year also our participant list is very long, we have more than 50 participants in Asian Junior (open) and nearly 36 participants in Asian Juniors (girls) are participating from different countries.” Apart from India, participants from countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Philippine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Japan are also participating in this tournament.
