The 5th Asian Men Individual
Chess Championship 2005 will be organized by Andhra Pradesh Chess Association
under the auspices of the All India Chess Federation

Hyderabad, India 5th to
16th October, 2005.
We are pleased to invite your
Chess Federation to take part in the 5th Asian Men Individual Chess
Championship to be held in Hyderabad India from 5th October 2005 (Arrival)
to 16th OCTOBER (Departure) 2005 at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium, Yousuf Guda, Hyderabad
The Championship shall be
played in accordance with FIDE Regulations.
Eligibility & Participation
Each Federation from
Zones 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 shall be represented by one official player.
In addition, each Federation
shall be entitled to send extra players. Such extra entries will be accepted
provided they have a FIDE Rating of at least 2300 and have paid the prescribed
entry fee of USD 300 in advance to the host Federation namely All India Chess
Federation. Such players will be responsible for the payment of their board
& lodging.
Entry Fee
Upon confirmation of entry,
each player except the defending champion shall pay to AICF the stipulated
entry fee of USD 150 as outlined in the FIDE Financial Regulations.
Registration
Entries shall be submitted in
the model registration form attached, on or before 20th September 2005. Late
entries will be accepted till 30th September 2005 with a late fee of US $ 100
Registration fee
Each participant must pay US $
100 to the organizers towards registration fee, accreditation and
transportation from the Hyderabad International Airport to the venue and back
Travelling Expenses
According to the FIDE
regulations, traveling expenses shall be borne by the participating
Federations.
Accommodation
The official player from each
National Federation will be provided with free board & lodging.
Participants will be accommodated in twin-shared bedrooms ( 2 people per
room). Players rated 2550 and above will also be eligible for free boarding
and lodging
Each additional participant and
each accompanying person should pay US $ 60 per day for sharing a double room
plus three meals a day or US $ 80 per day for a single room plus three meals
per day.
Playing Conditions
The tournament shall be
conducted as a Swiss System competition of 9 rounds and will be played
according to FIDE regulations. The time control is 90 minutes for each player
for the entire game with 30 seconds increment per move from move one.
Appeals Committee
An Appeals committee shall be
constituted before the beginning of the tournament as stipulated in the FIDE
regulations.
Protest if any shall be
submitted to the Chief Arbiter in writing with a protest fee of USD 100 within
one hour of the occurrence of the incident. If the protest is upheld the
amount will be refunded.

Payments
All Payments due to the
organizers on account of registration fee and boarding and lodging expenses
must be paid in advance to the credit of Andhra Pradesh Chess Association A/c

MLA Branch, Hyderabad, India and proof thereof ( bank acknowledgement) must be
sent along with the registration forms.

The Winner of the First Place will be awarded Gold medal
and the Cup of the Championship, the Second and the Third places will be
awarded Silver and Bronze medals respectively
Money Prizes a total of US$ 33,000 will be distributed as
follows :
1st Prize Us $ 6000.00
2nd Prize Us $ 4000.00
3rd Prize US $ 3000.00
4th Prize US $ 2000.00
5th Prize US $ 1500.00
6th 13th Prizes US $ 1000.00 each
14th 30th Prizes US $ 500.00 each
All Federations are requested to fill in the enclosed
registration form and return them to All India Chess Federation together with
a copy of the passport of the participants and the accompanying persons not
later 10th September 2005.
All National Federations are requested to approach the
Indian Embassy in their Country for their travel Visas.
Hyderabad is in South India and well connected by AIR from
all major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkotta, Chennai & Bangalore.
