Tournament Schedule

Arrival 14th January 2006 at 1200 hrs.
Inauguration 15th January 2006 at 0930 hrs.

Rounds

Morning Session : 1000 hrs. to 1400 hrs. 
Evening Session : 1600 hrs. to 2000 hrs.

Prizes : Total Cash Prizes: Rs.7,50,000/-

Please note that a Tax @ 11.2% ( as per Indian income tax regulations ) will be deducted from the prize money to be awarded to Foreign Players

Special Prizes :

Prizes for top three unrated players (minimum 5 points)
First : Rs. 12,000/- Second : Rs. 8,000/- Third : Rs. 5,000/-
Reserved Prizes:

One Consolation Prize for non prize winners Rs. 5,000
Note: One player will be given one prize only 1USD = Indian Rs. 45. approx.

Entry Fee

For GMs, IMs, WGMs, WIMs Free

Maximum entry for Delhi players Rs. 3500/-
Maximum entry for Delhi girls Rs. 2500/-

No request towards waiver of entry fee will be entertained.

The last date of entry -: 1st January, 2006

Entries with late fee of Rs. 500 10th January 2006.

Please note that this entry fee structure is valid only until 1st January 2006. Thereafter till 10th January 2006 the participants will have to pay Rs. 500/- extra. Entries will also be accepted at the venue till 20:00 Hrs. on 14th January 2006 with a late fee of Rs. 1,000/-. No request towards waiver of entry fee will be entertained.

Entries may be sent by DD (Delhi Cheques will also be accepted) favoring Delhi Chess Association, payable at Delhi at 162B, Gate No.29, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi – 110 003.

Registration:

AICF registration fee for 2006 is compulsory for all Indian participants. The registration fee will be accepted at the venue for the convenience of the players.

Accommodation:

All participants will be provided free hotel accommodation on triple sharing basis. The accompanying persons will have to bear their own expenses. However, if intimated well in advance, the Delhi Chess Association will provide lodging to accompanying persons on a payment of Rs. 2,000/- per head only during the course of the tournament.

Weather: The Weather in Delhi during January is expected to be cold. The minimum / Maximum temperature will be around 5/25 Degrees Celcius.

Tournament Rules:

The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System. 11 rounds will be played.

Tie Break: In case of a tie, the Progressive Score system shall come in to effect. The Cash prizes however will be shared.
