Lodging :
Lodging will be provided at Following Address only to participants and one accompanying official (Manager) nominated by the concerned State Chess Association for each State free of charge. All other persons should make own arrangements for their stay.

How to reach:
Get down at Kandivali Station on the East side and an autorickshaw will take you to Thakur Village. It is next to Mahindra and Mahindra Factory on the Western Express Highway. 

Age Limit Players should have been born on or after 01-01- 1990. 

Age Proof:
Each participant must produce a valid certificate to prove his/her age. Certificates from schools are not enough. In addition Certificates should preferably be from the Panchayat, Municipality or Corporation. Players without dates of birth certificates will not be allowed to participate. If any doubt arises about the claimed age of a player, the Tournament Committee has the right to refer the player during the Championship for a due evaluation of age by competent medical experts. A player if declared over-age by such experts shall not continue in the championship and shall be reported to AICF. Protest about the age of players may be made to the Chief Arbiter in writing along with a fee of Rs.1000 per player. This will not be refunded. Only the Coach or Manager deputed by participating State Chess Associations can lodge such protests. The Tournament Committee has the right to decide the day, time and place for such medical evaluation of age. Players refusing to take the test as decided by the Tournament Committee shall be disqualified from the Championship. 

Eligibility
Subject to age limit following players can participate.

a) Four players in each category from every affiliated State Association/Special Member of AICF. If any association / Special Member fails to send its quota, the vacancies so caused will not be filled. 

b) Top four players from 30th National Under 15 chess championship and 21st National Sub-Junior Chess Championship for Girls are eligible to participate as seeded players in the same category subject to age stipulation. 

c) Top Two players from the last National Under 13 (Boys & Girls) Chess Championship are eligible to participate as seeded players. 

d) Player who finished 1st in last National Under 11 (Boys & Girls) Chess Championship are eligible to participate as seeded players. 

e) The AICF Secretary has a discretionary seat in each category of the Championship.

f) Any other player who remits the prescribed Special Entry Fee (Rs. 2,000/-)

g) In each category, the host Association is entitled to field two additional players.

h) Current World Champion in any category.

i) Top three from 2005 Asian championship in Under 15 category.

j) Current Asian Under - 14 Champion

k) Current National Champion in any higher category .

l) 4 players in each category from areas where no State Associations exist. Those players are selected by Mr. D. V. Sunder, Secretary, All India Chess Federation. 

m) The National Under – 13 & Under – 15 Girls' champions are eligible to play in Boys' section here..

n) The host Chess Association is entitled to one additional entry if the number of participants at the start of the championship is an odd number. 

Entry Fee : Ordinary Entry Rs. 600.00 
Special Entry Rs. 2,000.00

There is a 50% concession in the entry fee for participants from North Eastern States, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshdweep and Jammu & Kashmir 

All entries including Special entries should come through the concerned State Association/Affiliate unit of the AICF. However the AICF will have the right to accept or reject any special entry without assigning any reason. The entry form is to be sent together with the entry fee by a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Venus Chess Academy" payable at Mumbai.

Late Fee : Entries received after 08.11.2005 will be subject to a late fee of Rs. 200/- per player. However no entry will be entertained after the stipulated final registration date 10.11.2005.

Open Section: (Total Rs.51,000/-) 

1) Rs.11,000/-; 2) Rs. 8,000/-; 3) Rs. 5,000/- ; 4) Rs.4,000/- 5) Rs.3,000/- ; 6 to 11) Rs.1500/- each;
and 12 to 21) Rs. 1,000/- each. 

Girls Section: (Total Rs. 47,400/-) 
1) Rs. 11,000/- ; 2) Rs.7,000/- ; 3) Rs.5,000/-; 4) Rs.3,000/- 5) Rs. 2,500/- 
6 to 10) Rs.1,500/- 
11 & 12) Rs.1,200/- each and 13 to 21) Rs.1,000/- each.
 
Tournament Committee:
AICF or its representative, two members from the different participating Associations and Secretary and two members of the Maharashtra Chess Association.

System of Play:
The championship will be played under the laws of chess and FIDE and Swiss system. Totally Eleven rounds shall be played unless otherwise decided by the Tournament Committee before the commencement of the championship. 

Session:
The Championship shall be played as per the FIDE laws of chess. Eleven rounds shall be played in all. Changes in these timings or the number of rounds shall be announced by the Chief Arbiter at the start of the first round. 

Chess Clock:
Each participating State Association must provide at least two clock in working order for every four players entered into the championship.

Tie-break:
Latest tie breaking rules will be applied. (The sum of progressive scores, if still tied, deduction of first round score, and if necessary, second round score, and so on. If the tie still remains unbroken, then the placing will be decided by toss). 

Protest:
Protest, if any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs. 500/- within one hour of the occurrence of the incident. The protest fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld. 

Appeals Committee:
Before the commencement of the tournament, a five-member committee of Appeal with two reserves shall be formed from amongst the senior participants and officials present at the Manager's meeting to be held at the venue on the Inaugural Day. All the members and reserves shall be from the different States. No member of the Committee can vote on dispute in which a player from his own State is involved and in such case the reserve member(s) shall take his place in the committee.

Disqualification:
No participant will leave the venue before the Prize Distribution function without the permission of the Chief Arbiter. The participants disregarding this rule will be suspended for one year. 

Interpretation:
For interpretation of the rule(s) and deciding any point not covered by the above rules of the tournament, the decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final and binding on all. The Tournament Committee has every right to make any addition or amendment to these rules, without notice. Such changes will, however, be displayed in the tournament hall. 

Registration of Players:
All the participants in the National Championship should get their names registered. Registration forms are available at the venue on payment of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) towards registration fees. No unregistered player will be entitled to participate in this National. 

Arrears: All arrears of affiliation fee/tournament fee including those of current year, must be cleared by the Affiliated Association at the time of submitting the entries, otherwise the entries are liable to be rejected.
